Spring 2015 Poetry Workshops led by creative writing instructors from Binghamton University will begin the first week of March. The adult workshops will be held every Monday or Thursday for five weeks, from 5:30-6:30. Registration is required; please call the Information Desk at 778-6451.  The workshop for children will be held on Thursdays for 5 weeks, from 5:30-6:30.  Registration is required, please call the Youth Services Desk at 778-6456.

If you like to read and share your thoughts about books in a friendly atmosphere, you are invited to join the Book Club.  All are welcome to attend.  At the March meeting, members will discuss Under the Wide and Starry Sky by Nancy Horan.  For more information, please call the Library’s Information Services Department at 607-778-6451.

AARP will offer free tax preparation at the Library.  You must make an appointment by calling the United Way.  If you are using a land line you can dial 211.  If you are using a cell phone please dial 1-800-901-2180.  You can call during the hours of 8:00-4:30.  AARP will prepare taxes starting February 2nd and end on April 11th, Monday- Saturday during the hours 10:00 am-2:00 pm.  

State tax forms have arrived.  You can also print many New York State tax forms from the New York State Department of taxation website (www.tax.ny.gov/forms/).  The IRS has informed Libraries that they will only send us select forms (1040, 1040a, and 1040ez) and no instruction booklets.  To read the full announcement and to find out how you can obtain Federal forms, please click here.
