Hungry Ear August 29th @ 5:30

The Hungry Ear, the library program celebrating the art of the short story, proudly presents two classic tales from the great writer, Ray Bradbury. Bradbury's characters may find themselves anywhere and in any era.  Yet all his work is united by one common thread: a vivid and profound understanding of the vast set of emotions that bring strength and mythic resonance to our frail species. “An Utterly Perfect Murder,” tells of a man anxious to seek revenge on a boy who bullied him when they were children.  It will be read by Andy Horowitz.

Free lunch for children up to age 18

Free meals will be given to children that are 18 and under at the Library.  Meals will be distributed Monday-Friday from 11:00-1:00 and Saturdays from 10:00-12:00, ending on August 31st.  CHOW and the Binghamton City School District are sponsoring this program.

Creation Station Opens April 11th

Creation Station

Welcome to the Creation Station!  Starting National Library Week (April 11—16), the Broome County Public Library will open a new space to the public.  The Creation Station will be BCPL’s take on a makerspace, which is simply any combination of technology and craft resources dedicated to making.  The Creation Station will include 6 computers with Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom software, a color printer, a sewing machine and iron/ironing board, and a Cricut machine for craft projects.  We hope that this space will provide a place to create and hours of fun.
