Big Read-The Vietnam War: A House Still Divided

The Broome County Public Library, in conjunction with SUNY Broome and the National Endowment for the Arts national program the Big Read, will host a free reading program entitled: The Vietnam War: a House Still Divided? on Thursdays, January 19th, February 16th, March 23rd and April 20th. Participants will read 4 books, one for each session (We Were Soldiers Once….And Young: Ia Drang-The Battle that Changed the War in Vietnam by Harold G. Moore; The Tragedy of the Vietnam War: a South Vietnamese Officer’s Analysis by Van Nguyen Duong; The Things They Carried by Tim O’Brien and Last Night I dreamed of Peace by Tram Dang Thuy. These will then be discussed in a group setting facilitated by Dr. Timothy P. Bridgman, a local published professional Historian and Reference Librarian at the Broome County Public Library.
