Friends of the Library whose dues have been paid through 2011, or who are Life Members, were eligible to vote for officers. The slate of officers can be viewed on our Officers page.
The Board of Trustees of the Broome County Public Library provided lunch at the meeting.
Guest Speaker
Sean Michael O'Dwyer was the guest speaker at the Annual Meeting. He is the author of "A Voice in the Wilderness: A 3,000 Mile Amble Over Mountains and More." O'Dwyer, a native of Corning, NewYork, lived in Ireland for the majority of his adult life. He hiked the entire outskirts of Ireland and Europe's Camino de Santiago. His recent 3,000 mile journey on the Appalachian Trail from Florida to Canada was the inspiration for his book. He will discuss the meaning of pilgrimage, a spiritual exercise largely discarded by modern society.
