|The Society maintains a collection of over 100,000 items covering our area from pre-history to the present.
We have preserved
these items by using current museum and archival standards.
|The BCHS is a major participant in the Local History & Genealogy Center in the Broome County Public Library.
Over 38,000 people visit the Center annually.
A collection of books, manuscripts, photographic images, newspaper clippings,
obituaries and an index of of
225,000 names are maintained in the
Local History & Genealogy Center.

|We provide a research service using only materials located in the Local History & Genealogy Center.|
The cost for research is $10.00/hour, plus the cost of copies (.25).
All monies must be paid before the research can be started.
